St. Nick

Grandma and Grandpa came over to deliver their St. Nick's stuff for the girls the night before...the girls were thrilled with their bag full of Christmas goodies!  St. Nick came overnight, and when the girls woke up, they found their stockings packed with more holiday fun.  Lucy and Ella got Christmas undies, Christmas outfits for their Snap-N-Style friends, Magna Doodle boards, spin lights, finger puppets, and a few treats.  Audrey stocking was full of socks, and all three girls got reindeer antlers!

Cute Cuter Cutest

Santa

Santa came to the clubhouse at my mom and dad's condo community, so we met up with Grandpa and went to see him.  I assumed Lucy and Ella would hesitate at least a little about sitting on his lap, so we figured we would get a table and have some milk and cookies while warming up to the idea.  We took off our coats and barely got in the door, and next thing I knew Ella was sitting on Santa's lap!  It was hysterical!  She talked with him for a few minutes, and he gave her a candy cane and some M&Ms.  When she came to our table, Lucy (who was not sure she wanted to go to Santa) saw the candy and decided she could do it--she will seriously do anything for sweets!

Reindeer and Turtles

Lucy and Ella went to Reindeer Adventures and Turtles zoo classes with Grandma and Grandpa, and had a blast.  They came home with costumes, art projects, and stories galore about their exciting day.  I love when they go to zoo classes because they always end up teaching me something about animals!  Thanks for the great day, Grandma and Grandpa--the time spent with you is priceless!

First Snow

Catching snowflakes on their tongues is something that comes up whenever snow is mentioned to Lucy and Ella...they are a little obsessed with the concept.  It might come from  A Charlie Brown Christmas, but I'm honestly not sure.  Anyway, when we saw the first snowflakes of the season falling, I knew they would be thrilled to get a taste.  They were beyond excited, and ran around like maniacs with their tongues hanging out.  It was hilarious, as are the pictures...I can only imagine what the neighbors were saying.

Christmas Decorating

We have a Little People Nativity set that is a favorite toy year after year--Lucy and Ella were so excited to set up the town of Bethlehem on their train table without any help from Mommy and Daddy.  Also brought out each year is a play Christmas tree, Santa hats, Christmas stuffed animals, play stockings and gift bags, and some Christmas pillows--all the necessary props to play Santa.  We put reins on anything that resembles a reindeer and one girl is Santa bringing toys to her sister, who is sleeping and then wakes up to find her gifts under the tree.  She opens her presents and then they switch roles.  Whoever is Santa usually recites the "On Dasher, on Dancer..." portion of The Night Before Christmas, only it is slightly altered each time, providing plenty of entertainment for the grown-ups within hearing range.  Love it!
